FAQs

What is Earthing/Grounding

Grounding, also called earthing, is a therapeutic technique that involves doing activities that “ground” or electrically reconnect you to the earth.

This practice relies on earthing science and grounding physics to explain how electrical charges from the earth can have positive effects on your body. This type of grounding therapy isn’t entirely the same as the technique that is used in mental health treatment.

How ofter should I be grounded

It’s simple…. as often as possible. One cannot be too grounded and you can’t overdo it. It would be ideal to be grounded 24/7, but it is not realistic. Set a grounding goal to ground for 1-2 hours a day - 20-30 minutes a day is the recommended minimum. The longer you ground the more you may feel the difference, physically, mentally and emotionally. Use our sheets and mats to ground where you spend the most time which is sleeping and working.

What Conductive Surfaces Enable You to Get Grounded

  • Grass
  • Soil
  • Sand
  • Any Metal (Silver, Gold, Steel, etc)
  • Rubber
  • Gravel
  • Unsealed ceramic tiles
  • Rock (on the earth’s surface)
  • Water: Ocean, Lakes & Streams
  • Trees & Living Plants
  • Concrete

Keep in mind that moist surfaces are more conductive than dry surfaces. Also, the more hydrated you are, the better grounding outcomes.

How do I connect a grounding/earthing product

Before connecting, make sure you follow instructions to check your grounding outlet. We prefer to connect a long cable and grounding rod directly from the window to the outside to the land.

HOW TO CONNECT & TEST YOUR GROUNDING OUTLETS & SHEETS/MATS: https://youtu.be/xiXO8Hqv8Ms

Is it dangerous to connect the sheet/mat to the electric outlet

No, unless you have a mis-wiring in your outlets/home. All post-60's houses should have good grounded wiring on the outlets but You should always test your Outlets with our Grounding Tester or Multimeter in our Accessories before you connect. Watch this video: https://youtu.be/xiXO8Hqv8Ms

Do I have to be in direct contact with the sheet/mat or can I put it under other surfaces

You should have direct contact. If there is no direct skin to sheet/mat contact, there will be no grounding effect.

How long do the sheets last; and how do I wash the sheets

The conductive life of the sheets will vary depending on factors such as skin type, skin products used, washing detergent, washing method, etc.

Typically the sheets have a conductive life of around 2 to 4 years.

This is due to a natural oxidation process that occurs on the silver thread, in response to the factors listed above. Inappropriate washing, etc. may shorten the conductive life.

In order to obtain the longest life from your sheet, be sure to follow the washing and usage instructions. This includes to wash the sheet regularly once every 2 weeks at least to avoid the body oils and other organic deposits to build up on the silver thread. Avoid detergents containing bleach or whitening agents as these will reduce the conductive materials.

In case of lightning, should I disconnect the sheet/mat

We advise you not to have it connected in case there is possibility of lightning during the your exposure/connection to the sheet/mat.

What about combining grounding with medication, etc?

Grounding is as natural as walking barefoot on the Earth, but of course we would always advise that you consult a medical doctor.  If you are taking blood thinning medication, then be aware that grounding can also reduce blood viscosity as natural result.
